Well all day yesterday I sat around doing nothing, it was depressing so last night I decided that I would go on a bike ride today. I had my mind set on doing the Alpine Loop but as I entered Provo Canyon I changed my mind. It was around 105 degrees and it was taking my energy even though I was drinking plenty of water. So I decided I would settle for Sundance or Aspen Grove. I made it up to Sundance and called it good. In the parking lot up there I saw a Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG with some sort of aftermarket body kit. The car is worth about $130,000 and most of the car including the engine is hand built. I don't know if the modifications were purely aesthetic or if they were functional but they did look nice. I really should bring a camera with me on these bike rides because I looked on the internet for an SL55 AMG with the came kind of body and I couldn't find one. I really wanted to talk to the owner but he/she never showed up so I decided to head back down. On the way down I hit 49.3 mph, not my fastest but a decent speed. I could have gone faster if I was peddling but I just wanted to coast down. Part way down Provo Canyon I came up to a chick on a road bike so I decided to talk to her. She was pretty cool and we talked for a good 10-15 minutes before she turned off the trail. I would have asked for her phone number but she was 24, just a little too old for me. I averaged 15.8 mph, a total distance of 34.4 miles in 2:10:05 (not including the rest at Sundance). I think I need to upgrade my bike computer because I am interested in what kind of altitude +/- I am doing, but those computers are like $50-60. Some day I will do the Alpine Loop, I just need to train harder.
Well there ya have it.
